A number of winter art programs offered by the City of Weyburn are ready to go at the start of February, with programs to be held in the Sun Room at the Weyburn Leisure Centre, or on the second floor at Weyburn City Hall.

The winners of the 2020 Saskatchewan Music Awards were announced on Sunday evening in the awards show which was as an online event, with Weyburn’s own Tenille Arts winning three awards.

Maureen Ulrich found success and acclaim more than a decade ago with a trio of fictitious books about a young female hockey player named Jessie Mac. Now the Lampman author has re-released the three books – Power Plays, Face Off and Breakaway.

Former Estevan resident Michael Dawson has received a $3,000 Independent Artists grant from SK Arts to write and arrange songs for a new album.

The fourth annual Woodlawn Regional Park Festival of Lights came to an end on Jan. 8, and it was a blast, just as expected. With the record number of participants, they also had a record number of visitors.

Organizers for the Estevan and District Music Festival are seeking registrations for a revamped event in 2021. It is tentatively scheduled for April 11-17. The music festival committee has chosen to have a virtual event this year.
