Pastor Daniel Kraus from the Lampman Faith Lutheran Church, volunteers each week to spend time with all the residents at the Lampman Community Health Centre.

A young woman went to her doctor complaining of pain. She touched her knee and yelled, "Ow, that hurts." She touched her cheek and yelled, "Ouch!" Then she touched her earlobe, "Ow, even THAT hurts", she cried.

Jimmy was a fisherman, the son of a fisherman and the product of a culture built on fishing. Fishing was all he knew and he was good at it. The only trouble was that Jimmy had a problem he couldn't overcome.

Did I happen to mention that fishing from the dock is one thing but fishing for the big stuff means cutting loose from the wharf and heading out to open water? As obvious as it sounds, it takes a deliberate act to untie the ropes and face the waves.

A rabbi and one of his students were spending the night at the inn. The student asked the servant to wake him at dawn because he was to take an early train. The servant did so.

The old time pastor was galloping down the road, rushing to get to church on time. Suddenly his horse stumbled and pitched him to the ground.

One of the worn-out jokes around here goes like this: Why did the (man/woman/preacher/whoever you want to pinpoint) go fishing? Answer: "Just for the halibut".

The term "shifting sands" is more than the title of a lovely song, more than a mere expression to describe a discovery made by scientists probing the mysteries of Mars.

A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son Timmy walking to school. She wanted to give him a feeling of independence. But she also wanted to know that he was safe.
