REGINA – A bench warrant has been issued for a 21-year-old woman charged in connection with a bear spray robbery after she failed to appear in court, while her co-accused remains in custody awaiting her next court date.

Amelia Brooklyn Faye Asham faces a robbery charge but didn’t show up for her scheduled appearance at Regina Provincial Court on May 26. Eliza Agnes Kaiswatum, 22, who is charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon, and failing to comply with a probation order, remains in custody. She returns to court on June 4.

The charges stem from an April 30 incident in which Regina police responded to reports of an assault and theft. According to police, the victim was allegedly bear-sprayed before having their cellphone stolen. Officers later located two female suspects matching witness descriptions and recovered a canister of bear spray along with the stolen phone.
