The RPS is encouraging residents to be mindful of safety and closures during Canada Day.

REGINA — As Regina gets set to celebrate Canada Day, the Regina Police Service (RPS) is reminding residents of road closures.

On Tuesday at 9 p.m., Albert Street will be closed between College Avenue and Regina Avenue.

The RPS is reminding residents not to park illegally or stop on the road to watch the fireworks in areas like the Highway 1 bypass between Assiniboine Avenue and Wascana Parkway and on Broad Street between College Avenue and Lakeshore Drive.

Residents are also being reminded about safety and etiquette:

  • Expect increased traffic and pedestrians around Wascana Park. Plan your route, leave early, and be patient and respectful.
  • Park only in designated spots, lock your doors and remove valuables.
  • Smoking is not permitted in public areas.     Dispose of trash properly and consume alcohol only in the designated beer garden.
  • Keep children within sight. If you lose or find a child, go to the Lost Children’s tent near the Main Stage off Legislative Drive.
  • Be mindful of other events happening in the park and respect those activities.
