REGINA – A 22-year-old woman arrested following two separate bear spray attacks in Regina on Sunday was remanded in custody after appearing in Regina Provincial Court Monday morning.

Jazzmin Rockell Dubois faces charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon. In addition, a bench warrant had been issued for her previously on weapons and mischief charges.

In the incident on June 29, Regina Police Service say that at about 12:10 p.m., officers were called to the 2900 block of Dewdney Ave. after reports that a female suspect had threatened a person with a knife and bear sprayed them. Shortly afterward, officers got another call about a second victim being bear sprayed in the 1900 block of Lorne Street.

Police arrived on scene, located the suspect and arrested her without incident. A search following the arrest uncovered a canister of bear spray and a knife.

Dubois was remanded in custody after her appearance on June 30 to give her time to get a lawyer. She is scheduled to appear in court by CCTV on July 4.
