Mud and smoke filled the air, making the crowd go wild at the 39th annual JCI Demolition Derby. The derby was held on June 27, during the annual Humboldt Summer Sizzler and rodeo. There were 30 entries from across the province in the event.

They worked and worked this spring to get ready to open, but now it is not going to happen. Waldsea Lake Regional Park was set to open on July 1, but rising water levels has forced the park to stay closed.

There are several new faces on the board and they're starting to spend some of the money they've raised. The Humboldt District Hospital Foundation (HDHF) held its annual general meeting in Humboldt on June 16 with close to 30 people in attendance.

The Original Humboldt Site may have been drowning in water, but that didn't stop the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery from having a grand opening of the site.

Due to the record amounts of rainfall this year, many outdoor sports have had difficulties finding time to play. Soccer, baseball and golf are three sports that have been majorly affected by the wet conditions.

Highway crews were out on June 16 to install rip rap along the sides of Highway No. 5, about six kilometers west of Humboldt.

An annual event is hoping for sunshine and dry conditions next weekend. The 10th annual LVW Baseball tournament in Muenster is set for June 26-27.

With the wettest spring in over 100 years bringing seeding to a standstill in the area, farmers in the Humboldt region are waiting for a government response.

The death of Mr. Edward "Ed" Julius Menz, Sr. of Muenster occurred at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, on Sunday, June 20, 2010. He was 94 years of age.
