The final push is on to shave every last hair off of Derek Schmidt's scalp. Schmidt, of Bill and Don's Men's Wear has pledged to have his head shaved if $10,000 can be raised for the Credit Union CUPlex by August 31.

The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum houses hundreds of historical baseball artifacts and Saturday 13 inductees, one family and one team graced the hall of fame.

After three days of scheduled action, just two teams sit in the standings without a loss. The Huskies are 2-0-1 to start the season as they thumped the Silver Bullets 53-12 Aug. 19 and 28-0 over the Slammers Tuesday.

The second Annual Battle Inn The Fords turned out great, with five local bands rocking out to three judges and a loud crowd of supporters. The bands that participated were Keara Monument, Palm Tree Pilots, Chevrotains, Six Blocks, and Mister Fire.

The ceremony may have been short and sweet Saturday, but to those honoured it was a meaningful and appreciated ceremony held at the Battleford Legion Hall.

Eldebrock, an up-and-coming rock band, recently won an award for their website, www.eldebrock.net. The award, presented by the Interactive Media Council, was for website design in the music category.

Battlefords Boys and Girls Club is heading south with a new after school program.

After winning two tournament during the summer months, the Battlefords Stingers U18 Development Girls soccer team had high expectations for provincials, which were held in Lloydminster July 23 to 25.
