Gymhkana events capture the heart sole of both horse and rider

 The Etoimamie Valley Riders Club hosted a gymkhana set of events that were held during the Sturgis Sports Day.

STURGIS — The Etoimamie Valley Riders Club hosted a gymkhana set of events during Sturgis Sports Day. Riders participated in four categories — wee pee, pee wee, junior and senior — in three events: barrels, poles and games.

Amanda Kowalchuk was the announcer for both days, and ground helpers were members of the club.

In the wee pee barrel event on Saturday, Stetson Checkowy placed first, Hayze Kilborn was second and Laura Lindholm placed third. On Sunday, Kilborn placed first, followed by Macy Young and Lindholm. Kilborn was the two-day aggregate winner. 

In the wee pee poles on Saturday, Checkowy was first, followed by Kilborn and Lindholm. On Sunday, Kilborn placed first, Young placed second and Lindholm placed third. Kilborn was the two-day aggregate winner.  

In the wee pee games on Saturday, Checkowy placed first, Kilborn second and Lindholm third. On Sunday, Kilborn placed first, Young placed second and Lindholm third. The two-day aggregate winner was Kilborn. 

In the pee wee barrels on Saturday, Tyler Griffith placed first, Ellie Haroldson second and Jaxon Neilson third. On Sunday, Haroldson placed first, Neilson was second and Reed Galloway placed third. Haroldson was the two-day aggregate winner. 

In pee wee poles on Saturday, Haroldson placed first, Neilson second and Galloway third. On Sunday, Haroldson placed first, Galloway second and Neilson third. The two-day aggregate winner was Haroldson. 

In the pee wee games, Griffith placed first, Haroldson second and Neilson third. On Sunday, Haroldson placed first, Neilson second and Arianna Neilson third. The two-day aggregate winner was Haroldson. 

In the junior barrels on Saturday, Sara Foster placed first, Zoe Stachura second and Hazy Sharpe third. On Sunday, Madison Auchstaetter placed first, Shyann Lindholm second and Stachura third. The two-day aggregate winner was Auchstaetter. 

In junior poles on Saturday, Stachura placed first, Auchstaetter second and Sharpe third. On Sunday, Stachura was first, Sharpe second and Savannah Neilson placed third. The two-day aggregate winner was Stachura.
