For those who have ever dreamed of operating a charming, small town diner, you may be interested to know that the 1950s retro style theme restaurant, The Whistle Stop Classic Rock Café and Lounge in Norquay is up for sale.

Tony Derwores is the owner and operator of TDX Contracting – a landscaping and excavation company operating out of Kamsack. Derwores has over 22 years of experience and knowledge in operating equipment as a result of working for multiple construction companies across Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

They have been in town for only a week, so it didn’t take long for Soon Kwon and Tina Choi – the new owners of the historic Kamsack hotel, The Woodlander, to host a grand opening event to introduce themselves and greet locals.

In my quest to discover and learn from interesting people and lifestyles in east central Saskatchewan, it was recommended that I get in touch with a young entrepreneur from Rhein – a small village located 46 kilometres from Kamsack.

Mayor Nancy Brunt reported that the Kamsack Town Council has approved a pilot project application submitted by Cory Chernoff to implement raising backyard chickens within town limits.

On June 27, 2021 at approximately 6 p.m., Kamsack RCMP officers were responding to an unrelated complaint on Keeseekoose First Nation when they observed a male who was known to be on a Canada-wide warrant for a breach of parole.

With temperatures soaring into the mid-thirties on June 29, the group of graduating Kamsack Comprehensive students looked remarkably cool and collected as they were paraded through town on top of two flat deck floats.

On July 5, 2021 shortly after 8:00 p.m. the Canora RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle (an orange coloured crossover/SUV) parked along Tiny grid road near the Burgis Beach turn off.
