Know this man? RCMP seek suspect in Carlyle theft of cash, hamster

Carlyle RCMP is seeking help to identify a suspect after cash and a pet hamster were stolen in break-ins at three local businesses.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 40 to 50 years old, standing between 5鈥8鈥 and 6鈥 tall. He has a goatee, wears glasses and was dressed in dark clothing at the time of the incident.

CARLYLE — Carlyle RCMP is requesting the public’s help to identify a suspect following a break and enter that targeted multiple local businesses.

In the early morning hours of May 9, three businesses in Carlyle were broken into, resulting in the theft of several hundred dollars in cash. In an unusual twist, a small pet hamster belonging to one of the business owners was also reported stolen.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 40 to 50 years old, standing between 5’8” and 6’ tall. He has a goatee, wears glasses and was dressed in dark clothing at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about the identity of the individual is asked to contact Const. Mathieu Pelletier at the Carlyle RCMP detachment by calling 306-453-6707. Tips can also be submitted by calling 310-RCMP or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
