SASKATOON — The city is set to welcome Canada’s biggest names in the country music scene for next year’s Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards. Saskatoon’s rich musical heritage, dynamic arts scene and prairie hospitality make the city a perfect choice to host Country Music Week 2026, which culminates with the awards night, according to the CCMA.
This is Saskatoon’s third time hosting the week-long event. The previous times were in 2012 and 2017. This will also be the fifth time Saskatchewan has hosted Country Music Week, with 1978 being the first time in Regina — though there was no awards night. Regina hosted again in 1983, with Marie Bottrell being named Female Artist of the Year for the second straight year.
The CCMA has chosen the Paris of the Prairies to once again host Country Music Week in September 2026, as its deep-rooted connection to Canadian music provides a perfect backdrop for the event. City and provincial officials, partnering with private organizations, promise an unforgettable experience for artists, industry professionals and fans alike.
The 2026 Country Music Week is made possible through the support of the City of Saskatoon, Discover Saskatoon, Saskatoon Destination Marketing Hotels, the Saskatoon Tribal Council, the 2026 host committee, and the Government of Saskatchewan.
CCMA president Amy Jeninga said they are once again thrilled to bring Country Music Week and the awards night to Saskatoon.
“Saskatoon is a city that is filled with creativity and heart. It's a warm community, thriving music scene, and commitment to the arts make it an ideal home for our 2026 celebration of the best and brightest in Canadian country music,” said Jeninga.
STC Chief Mark Arcand, Saskatoon Mayor Cynthia Block, and Discover Saskatoon CEO Stephanie Clovechok said they are ready and thrilled to welcome everyone to celebrate the country’s biggest country music event in the land of the First Nations Peoples in Treaty 6 territory.
“This event is an opportunity to showcase culture, language and identity with our community in Saskatoon. We are proud to help lead a future where inclusion is deeply rooted in reconciliation and a standard in our destination,” said Arcand.
Block added the city has a deep appreciation for country music and a strong track record of hosting world-class events.
“This is an incredible opportunity to showcase Saskatoon’s vibrant arts community, our warm hospitality, and the energy that makes this city such a special place. We can’t wait to roll out the red carpet for Canada’s country music stars and fans,” said Block.
Clovechok added that Saskatoon is ready and cannot wait to welcome all artists, fans and CCMA officials to showcase the city’s hospitality.
“This national celebration will bring together artists, fans and industry leaders who already know and love our city — and those who are about to be surprised by what they find here. We’ve saved you a seat, and we can’t wait to share Saskatoon’s hospitality, creativity, and cultural heartbeat with the country,” she said.
Alana Ross, the Minister Responsible for Tourism Saskatchewan, said the provincial government proudly supports the 2026 Canadian Country Music Awards, with Saskatoon serving as the host.
“Saskatchewan has a strong reputation for hosting successful cultural events on both a national and international stage. This event will provide another opportunity to showcase our province’s world-class hospitality while contributing significant economic benefits to the community,” said Ross.
