Barbara Anne Campbell (née Nykolaishen) April 19, 1952 – March 27, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Campbell, who departed this life peacefully on March 27, 2025, at the age of 72.
Barbara was born in Canora, Saskatchewan on April 19, 1952, to Mike and Anne Nykolaishen, who predeceased her. In 1956, she moved with her family to Kitimat, British Columbia, a community that would become her lifelong home and the place where she would build deep, lasting roots.
Barbara gave tirelessly of her time and energy to the people of both Kitimat and Kitamaat Village. Her generosity of spirit and dedication to building meaningful relationships helped knit together the fabric of these neighboring communities. Whether through volunteer work, community events, or quiet acts of kindness, Barbara touched countless lives with her compassion and integrity.
She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Ken, her cherished sons Robert (Darlene) and Michael (Lindsey), and her four adored grandchildren: Riley, Kasey, Van, and Finn.
Barbara’s warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family defined her life. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever treasured by those who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at 7:00pm on May 8th 2025 at the Rec Center in Kitamaat Village. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to one of the many charities that Barbara supported, including The Cancer Society, The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation, Kitimat Valley Housing Society.
