PAYNTON — The first-ever Rhubarb Festival in Saskatchewan in Paynton is just around the corner.

The festival committee will host a variety of local vendors, a bouncy castle, face painting and dancers, with the highlight of the day being Saskatchewan's first rhubarb baking competition. Come enjoy local baking at the rhubarb tea.

The day, June 21, starts at 11 a.m. At noon, a dignitary kickoff ceremony will be held where the winners of the rhubarb baking competition will be announced.

Come and visit our beer and wine gardens from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.  The Bee and Thistle Winery of Debden has prepared a signature drink made special for this day. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available.

Shop at a silent auction, featuring a range of donations.

Disc golf demonstrations and mini competitions are hosted all day long.

The tractor show promises a nostalgic view of horsepower over the ages.

All proceeds will be donated to the community of Paynton.
