RCMP investigating after infant seriously hurt in Kelliher

The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Regina Provincial General Investigation Section has taken over the investigation.

KELLIHER – Melville RCMP are investigating after an infant was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an incident at a Main Street business in Kelliher.

Police were called to the scene at approximately 8:40 p.m. on. June 20 after receiving a report that the child required urgent medical attention. Officers responded alongside local emergency medical services (EMS), and the infant was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries described as serious.

The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Regina Provincial General Investigation Section has taken over the investigation. Police haven’t released details regarding the nature of the incident or the circumstances leading to the infant’s injuries.

“Saskatchewan RCMP’s Regina Provincial General Investigation Section continue to investigate,” said a Saskatchewan RCMP media spokesperson in an email. “As this is an active and ongoing investigation, we have no further information to provide at this time.”

Kelliher is approximately 139 kilometres from Regina.
