YORKTON — Yorkton KidSport Jersey Day took place on Friday, May 30.
Residents were encouraged to wear their favourite jerseys and make a donation in support of Yorkton KidSport, an organization that helps remove financial barriers to youth participation in sports.
Local schools took part in an additional challenge to see which could raise the most funds and claim the Yorkton KidSport Jersey Cup. This year, Columbia School won the second annual competition, collecting $598.30.
In total, schools in the area raised $2,746.25, while local businesses also pitched in. Altogether, just over $5,000 was raised across Yorkton to support the initiative.
