Agile athletic dancers attain high awards for dance season

Dancers of all ages were the highlight of the last dance awards ceremony.

PREECEVILLE — The Extravadance Studio has two locations with studios in Preeceville and in Yorkton that have young athletic dancers from across the region registered. They have attended numerous competitions and netted big rewards for their efforts.

The club hosted an awards and graduation program at the St. Mary’s Cultural Centre in Yorkton on May 28. Club members were rewarded for all their hard work with special awards.

The Miss or Mr. Manners Award was presented to a dancer who embodies kindness, respect and poise, both in and outside the classroom. 

These recipients will receive a $50 cash scholarship. "The first award is sponsored by The Popoff Family and that goes to: Willow Sciliberto. The second award is sponsored by the Lazurko Family and that goes to: Kenzlee Konkin. The final award is sponsored by a Local Dance Lover, and that goes Julie Ziola of the Preeceville dance club," said Kristin Weber-Karcha, coach.

Weber-Karcha went on to present the remaining awards to conclude the ceremony.
The Ray of Sunshine Award went to a dancer who is an all-around pleasure to have in class every week, the coach said. Their bright spirit, positivity and radiant energy light up the studio and inspire everyone around them. These recipients will receive a $50 cash scholarship. The first award was sponsored by Kayla Renkas and went to Georgia Bauer. The next award was sponsored by Jeanie Werner and the Wellness Room and went to Emma Karakochuk. The final award was sponsored by Naturally You Esthetics and went to Emerly Sliva of Preeceville.

The Shining Star Award went to a dancer who is part of the competition team whose presence on stage radiates brilliance and energy. With every movement, they captivate the audience, illuminating the performance with confidence, grace and passion. Their ability to connect, inspire and light up the stage truly makes them a shining star in every sense. 

These recipients received a $100 cash scholarship. The first award was sponsored by Shop Easy in Preeceville and was presented to Eva Romanchuk of Sturgis.The next award was sponsored by a Local Dance Lover and was presented to Blayke Nagy.

The Most Improved award recognizes a dancer whose dedication, perseverance, and hard work have led to remarkable growth. Through consistent effort and a passion to learn they've transformed challenges into achievements, showing just how far determination can take you.

This award was sponsored by the studio and each recipient received a $150 tuition scholarship towards future classes.

The Little Dancer recipient was Rose Samonte. The Junior recipients were Willow Malisheski and Kami Cross. The Intermediate Dancer’s were Charlie Sleeva and Neah Woitas. The Senior dancer was Katrina Raml.

The Dance Spirit Award went to a dancer who radiates positivity, enthusiasm, and a deep love for dance. Their energy lifts the room, their encouragement fuels their teammates and their passion is contagious. This dancer embodies the true spirit of dance. 

These recipients will receive a $50 cash scholarship. The first award, sponsored by Jeanie Werner and the Wellness Room went to Everleigh Vaughan. The second award, sponsored by Naturally You Esthetics was presented to Aspen Zilch of Preeceville.

The Positive Vibes Award went to a dancer with an infectious smile, encouraging words and can-do attitude, they uplift everyone around them. Their positive energy makes rehearsals brighter, performances more joyful, and the dance community stronger. They are a true role model for Extravadance. This award was sponsored by the Extravadance and each recipient received a $100 cash scholarship.The award goes to Sage Ward of Preeceville and Presley Krysa 

The Dan”Sir” Award was presented to a standout male dancer who brings strength, style and charisma to every performance.  With commanding stage presence, he leads with confidence and dances with heart. He is an incredible advocate for a studio and role model to all of our male dancers. These recipients received a $50 cash scholarship. The first award, sponsored by Jeanie Werner and the Wellness Room went to Parker Hollinger. The second award, sponsored by a local dance lover, went to Ben Tremblay of Preeceville.

The Leadership Award recognized a dancer who leads with integrity, encouragement, and by example. Whether guiding teammates, supporting instructors, or setting the tone through hard work and dedication, this dancer uplifts those around them. A natural role model, they demonstrate that true leadership shines both onstage and offstage.

These recipients all received a $150 cash scholarship sponsored by our Local Dance Lover. Recipients were Karleigh Lambert, Molly Stykalo, and Quinn Bedore.

The Dedication Award was presented to a dancer who consistently shows unwavering commitment, passion, and perseverance. Through every challenge, rehearsal, and performance, they give their all, never backing down and always pushing forward. Their determination and love for dance inspire everyone around them.

These recipients all received a $100 cash scholarship, sponsored by our Local Dance Lover was presented to Morgan Hollinger and Ayda Morton Blender of Sturgis.

The Exam Excellence Award honours a dancer who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, discipline and technical skill in their dance examinations.  Through focus, preparation and strong work ethic, they have excelled with grace and precision, setting a shining example of what dedication to excellence looks like.

This was sponsored by the studio and each recipient received a $250 tuition scholarship towards continuing to develop their Excellence; Acro Excellence - Emma Ivey; Ballet Excellence - Kaylee Drosky; Jazz Excellence - Charlie Newton of Preeceville and Bella Stykalo and Tap Excellence - Kaleigh Meberg, Preeceville.

The Performance Scholarship,a special award for a dancer who was nominated by an audience member at the recital.  The sponsor was completely mesmerized and blown away b her performance and felt she immediately deserved this recognition. 
A $100 Cash Scholarship was presented to Emma Littman.

Five-Year Awards were presented to Marley Andrews, Taylor Dutcheshen, Jordyn Krysa, Presley Krysa, Emma Littman, Everleigh Vaughan, Ailsa Wild, Kendall Werner and Tyken Magnusson.

Ten-Year Awards were presented to Brecklyn Baluk, Elizabeth Blenkin, Jilliann Dubiel, Morgan Hollinger, Brianna McDougall, Jane Nabozniak and Brylee Senchuk
